**QUEENSCOURT RETAIL UPDATE**
All of our shops closed their doors on March 24th as directed by the Government but after it was announced that non-essential shops could re-open, our Retail Team set to work behind the scenes to ensure that our shops are Covid-19 secure. The Queenscourt Retail Team has also put into place appropriate measures to ensure that all donations we receive are adequately quarantined before being put out for sale.
With so much to be done to meet these requirements, we had to take a phased approach to the re-opening of our shops so that we could be sure of the safety of our staff, volunteers and of course our customers.
The first shop to re-open was our Churchtown store, closely followed by our other shops at Chapel Street in Southport, Liverpool Road North in Burscough and our Formby shop. Queenscourt’s Bispham Road shop temporarily became a dedicated DONATION STATION, but has now reopened as a discount store.
The new opening days for our shops are Tuesday to Saturday, but opening times may vary, so please see the specific shop information provided below.
Due to the high volume of donations we are receiving, and the need to adequately quarantine all items before selling them, we have had to restrict when and where we can accept donations at present.
Currently we are accepting donations in our Chapel Street and Burscough shops on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12pm, in our Churchtown Shop Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am and in our Bispham Road Shop Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 9am. To avoid disappointment we would advise you to drop off your donations as early as possible, as due to quarantine restrictions and once capacity has been reached, we would have to decline any further donations.
N.B Please note from the 2nd November our Formby Shop will be accepting donations Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9am.
*Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter*
Sadly, we have not been able to reopen all of our shops. The premises that we have in Tarleton and Ormskirk cannot adequately meet the necessary Covid-19 safety requirements and still generate a profit for Queenscourt.
Sue Newth, Queenscourt’s Area Retail Manager, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers, volunteers and staff at our Tarleton and Ormskirk shops who have made a huge contribution to Queenscourt over the years. We are all so sorry that the shops can’t continue, but it is not possible to make the necessary changes to keep our customers safe on those premises. “Our intention is to pursue opportunities for pop-up shops in both of these areas, but in the meantime we will be offering a mobile Donation Station facility for anyone who wishes to still donate items to Queenscourt in Ormskirk and Tarleton. Further details will be available in due course via our website and social media.”
Please come and see us soon 💜💚
