Will you make a Will this April?

Growing family, successful career, marriage, new home, separation, retirement – these are just some of the reasons why you should make a Will.

Once again, Queenscourt Hospice is highlighting the importance of making a Will during their annual Make a Will Month campaign that takes place in April.

Participating local solicitors support the campaign by providing their professional service and time to write your Will in exchange for a donation to Queenscourt Hospice.

Whether you have just bought your first home, your family is growing, you’ve experienced a recent separation, maybe you have retired, you have grandchildren you wish to take care of, or you may have a successful career! These are just some of the stages in your life that should prompt you to think about making a Will.

Making a Will can provide you with peace of mind that all your wishes have been recorded. Having no Will in place means your wishes are not recorded, which could leave your loved ones with the difficult and lengthy task of finalising your affairs.

It doesn’t have to be daunting – it is a way of planning for the future and for those you love.

During the Queenscourt Hospice Make a Will Month you can have your Will professionally written by participating local Solicitors, in exchange for a suggested minimum donation to Queenscourt Hospice of:

  • £150 for a basic Single Will*
  • £250 for basic Mirror Wills*

*For complex Wills that require more time, Solicitors will advise of any additional charges on top of the donation.

A Lasting Legacy for Queenscourt

Once you have ensured that your nearest and dearest are taken care of and provided for, you may consider leaving a legacy gift to Queenscourt Hospice in your Will. A gift in your Will, however big or small, could help #teamqueenscourt to continue providing exceptional compassionate care for local people when they need us the most.

As a local charity, each year we care for over 2,000 patients with life-limiting illnesses across West Lancashire, Formby and Southport.

The future of your local hospice relies upon people like you remembering us in your Will. It’s a simple way of ensuring that Queenscourt Hospice will be here to care for generations to come.

There is no obligation for you to include a gift to the hospice in your Will, however, any gift in your Will made to a UK registered charity such as Queenscourt Hospice, will be tax free and may help reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax your estate would otherwise have to pay.

Andrea Parkes, Individual Giving & Legacy Fundraiser at Queenscourt adds, ‘Thank you to all of the local Solicitors who have chosen to support us once again. We really appreciate their time, their expertise and their professionalism during our Make a Will Month campaign. Making a Will is so important, and it is even more important to do it properly and professionally through a qualified Solicitor.

Now in its 11th year we are proud to have helped over 1,000 people connect with a Solicitor to make their Will, and to have raised over £100,000 for Queenscourt through our annual Make a Will Month campaign’.
