Top of the Class!
Huge congratulations to Julie Davidson and Ewelina Kopec from #teamqueenscourt on receiving their MSc Degrees in Integrated Palliative and End of Life Care from Edge Hill University.
Julie, Clinical Co-ordinator for Queenscourt at Home and Ewelina, Education Facilitator at Queenscourt’s Terence Burgess Education Centre recently attended the graduation ceremony at Edge Hill University to receive their Master’s Degree certificates.
The MSc Integrated Palliative and End of Life Care programme gives healthcare professionals including nurses, doctors and paramedics the theoretical basis for assessing the needs of patients and their families, managing symptoms and addressing physical, psychological, spiritual and social concerns. This enables frontline clinical staff to provide better care for patients and their families.
The exciting collaborative partnership between Queenscourt Hospice and Edge Hill University commenced in 2016-17, and saw the development of an original and inspiring programme for front line health care professionals, aiming to equip them to provide the best possible evidence based palliative and end of life care. This Postgraduate Certificate (and Master’s Programme) consists of three Palliative and End of Life Care Modules delivered face to face and online (hybrid model).
Julie was also awarded the University’s Pat Swain Prize in recognition of the clinical and academic excellence of her advanced practice project which explored the important role played by family carers: www.edgehill.ac.uk/patients-end-of-life-care/
