Queenscourt Hospice sets £100,000 Target for Iconic Star Trekk Night Walk

Will you make a Will this April?

Queenscourt Hospice is delighted to announce that our ever-popular Star Trekk night walk is back this springtime – taking place on Friday 3rd May 2024.

Since Star Trekk began 18 years ago our wonderful Trekkers have raised an incredible £1million for our charity.

This year, we have set an ambitious target to reach a donation target of £100,000, hoping to make this our biggest and best Star Trekk yet!

The evening starts at Pleasureland, Southport with a fun party atmosphere hosted by Dune FM, where you can enjoy the pre-Trekk entertainment, with the walk starting at 7.30pm.

Star Trekk night walk is a healthy, energising and fun event open to people of all ages.  You can take part on your own, with family and friends, with your exercise class or with your work colleagues – the choice is yours.

While many trekkers take part in memory of a loved one or because #teamqueenscourt have supported them personally, others simply enjoy a fun night out and just want to raise money for their local hospice.

This year our Star Trekk theme is light blue….so get ready with matching accessories as we can’t wait to see you all in your fabulous and quirky outfits! All Trekkers will receive a T-Shirt and a medal.

Trekkers will enjoy a performance from the Rock Choir, based just outside Queenscourt Hospice on the night, as well as fresh fruit kindly supplied by Nationwide Produce (there will even be treats for dogs!).

Along the route, Birkdale Village will be decorated in colourful balloons thanks to Penny Crook from Birkdale Card & Gift Boutique.

Dianne Gillespie, Events Fundraiser, said: “Last year, we experienced our most successful Star Trekk to date, welcoming over 1,000 Trekkers. Large groups of friends, family and businesses came together in the sunshine for a fun-filled evening.

“Star Trekk is a flagship event in the Queenscourt calendar, generating much needed income for our charity and helping us to continue providing exceptional palliative care for local people across West Lancashire, Formby and Southport.

“We would also like to say a huge thank you to this year’s sponsors, Southport Pleasureland, Bidfood, iSIGHT, Gymophobics Southport and EFT Group – our event would not be possible without their generous support.”

While fundraising is at the discretion of the entrant, we kindly ask for a minimum sponsorship of £30 in addition to the entry fee.

Entries will cost £25 or £12.50 for under 16’s – to enter online, please visit www.queenscourt.org.uk/startrekk.
