C – Compassion:
Compassion is the heart of what we do. Every member of #teamqueenscourt – from Nurses and Doctors to Catering and Housekeeping – provides free exceptional, compassionate care, 365 days a year.
Our Inpatient Unit offers round-the-clock specialist support in a peaceful environment, while Queenscourt at Home brings that same care directly into patients’ homes.
Queenscourt Connect offers bereavement support for families and children, carers’ services, keeping in touch resources and physiotherapy, in and out of the home, ensuring no one is alone.
Outpatient Services and our Specialist Palliative Care Doctors and Nurses provide ongoing support, along with Queenscourt in Hospital delivering expert care wherever it’s needed.
At Queenscourt, compassion is at the core of each one of our services.
L – Learning:
Learning never stops. Through our Terence Burgess Education Centre, we provide essential palliative and end-of-life care training for both #teamqueenscourt and local healthcare professionals.
Our Transform Team work across hospitals, communities, and care homes to support and educate clinical staff caring for people in the final stages of life.
E – Excellence:
Excellence drives everything we do. Our Quality Services Team ensures all areas meet the highest standards of care.
Our Housekeeping Team maintains strict infection control, and our Catering Team creates personalised meals for our patients – with compassion and care.
Behind the scenes, our Corporate Services Team supports this mission: HR nurtures our people, Finance stewards every penny, and our Income Generation Team raises vital funds.
Every department is united in delivering the best care for our patients, families, staff, and volunteers.
A – Accountability:
Queenscourt’s Board of Trustees, a team of dedicated volunteers, provides expert oversight and strategic direction.
Through open communication and regular feedback from patients, families, staff, and volunteers, we remain accountable to the community we support.
R – Resources:
It costs over £7 million a year to run our hospice, with only about 20% of our funding coming from the NHS.
Our Income Generation Team works tirelessly to secure the funds we need, from annual events and community challenges, to campaigns, appeals, corporate support and generous gifts – including legacies, grants, and trusts. We also have our retail stores across West Lancashire, Southport and Formby along with our dedicated lottery players, whose ongoing support helps keep Queenscourt in service.
Our incredible volunteers support us every step of the way, giving their time and passion in every area – from shops, gardening and fundraising events to patient care and reception. We simply couldn’t do it without them.
