Situation
1900 people with a terminal illness rely on Queenscourt Hospice every year. Our specialist ward cares for them during incredibly difficult stages, when they most need to feel safe and at peace. Their comfort is our priority. Despite rocketing costs, heating our clinical centre is non-negotiable. To make this challenge worse our heating system is old and inefficient. Last winter it failed numerous times and caused the temperature within our hospice to plummet, requiring expensive quick fixes.
Solution
We must replace our outdated heating system to protect our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers. The new system is much more suited to our building’s 24/7 clinical needs. It will massively reduce our energy use and continue to save our charity money year after year. This means we will be able to direct more of our funds towards caring for our patients. For years to come, no matter how cold it gets outside, within our hospice every patient and family will be warm, safe and comfortable.
