By providing understanding and compassionate support within the school environment, staff can help pupils feel valued, secure, and supported as they navigate their grief. Such care can make a lasting difference to a young person’s wellbeing and educational journey
This interactive session is designed to help school staff build understanding, confidence, and practical skills to support pupils and families during times of loss and bereavement
- The session will:
Enhance understanding of how children and young people experience and express grief
Identify signs of grief and distress within the school environment
Develop confidence in communicating sensitively with bereaved pupils and their families
Explore practical strategies, resources, and school-based approaches to provide emotional and pastoral support
