Queenscourt Hospice Awarded £1,500 Grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation

Community | 2 September 2022

Queenscourt Hospice has recently been awarded a £1,500 grant from the Enterprise Holding’s Foundation, after being nominated by local business Nationwide Accident Hire.

The Enterprise Holdings Foundation provides charitable support to worthwhile, non-profit initiatives that are actively supported by the company’s employees.

Nationwide Accident Hire chose Queenscourt to receive the grant after their employee, Jack Wright nominated the hospice because his Grandad was cared for by #teamqueenscourt last year.

Nationwide Accident Hire, based in Ormskirk, provides expertise, advice and accident management solutions to Fleet Managers and Fleet Management Companies nationally.

Jack’s Grandad Alan Robinson was cared for by #teamqueenscourt via the In-Patient Unit and at home, where he was able to spend precious time with Jack’s Nana. Jack’s Great Grandad, Fred Dean, was also cared for by #teamqueenscourt.

Jack said: “I have such high praise for Queenscourt – when I was asked which charity the company should nominate, I immediately thought of them.”

“What better way to say thank you to all of the nurses and staff who were so wonderful and helpful not only during my Grandad’s care, but with the support that they gave to our wider family.”

“The staff were fantastic and helped to put my Nana at ease by answering any questions or concerns she had. It was such a hard time for her but they kept our spirits up and created a lighter atmosphere.”

Carly Bull, Account Manager at the Enterprise Foundation, said: “We are delighted that Queenscourt Hospice has been chosen to receive this £1,500 grant, the Enterprise Foundation recognises their incredible work, providing compassionate care to local people when they need it the most.”

“Our team would like to say a huge thank you for the services your charity provides to our community.”

Funding received from Charitable Trusts and Foundations provides a vital source of income so that #teamqueencourt can continue to care for over 2000 patients each year across West Lancashire, Formby and Southport.

Kate Tipton-Thomas, Head of Income Generation and Communications at Queenscourt, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Jack and Nationwide Accident Hire. As a small local charity with a big reach, we rely on the generosity of our wider community so that #teamqueenscourt can continue to provide exceptional compassionate care for patients and their loved ones, when they need us the most.

As well as contributing towards essential core running costs, grants also make a significant difference to Queenscourt by funding improvements to our building, purchasing new clinical equipment, renewing essential equipment, and funding specific services”
