Queenscourt Hospice is delighted to announce the launch of a special charity calendar competition, designed to showcase the very best amateur photography talent in the local community.
The calendar will be sold to raise vital funds for the hospice and will feature a visual celebration of everything that Southport, Formby and West Lancashire has to offer – from its stunning coastline, to its vibrant towns, beautiful countryside, historic buildings and diverse wildlife.
To bring the calendar to life, the Queenscourt team is now inviting keen photographers from across the area to enter their photos into the competition. In all, 12 winning images will be selected to appear in the 2020 calendar, which will go on sale via the hospice’s shops this Autumn.
If you have a passion for photography and a knack for capturing a sense of place, Queenscourt would love to see your images. Competition judges are looking for scenic representations of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire, throughout the changing seasons, that truly encapsulate what makes those places special. The panel would like to see photos taken in Spring, Summer Autumn and Winter. As long as the images are high resolution, the interpretation is completely down to you.
This is a unique opportunity to put your photography and local area in the spotlight, while doing something to help raise funds to support Queenscourt Hospice’s essential range of services. The hospice relies heavily on community support and donations to ensure it can continue providing free, high-quality care for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancs. Of every £1 donated to the hospice, 96p is spent on delivering and supporting direct care. Queenscourt is dedicated to caring for patients with far advanced, progressive, incurable illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage.
Winners will be selected by the judging panel when the competition closes on 22nd August 2019 and announced on the 5th September 2019.
The calendars will be available to buy from October onwards in various Queenscourt charity shops including Chapel Street, Southport; Cambridge Road, Churchtown; Wheatsheaf Walk, Ormskirk; Brows Lane, Formby; Liverpool Road, Burscough, Church Road, Tarleton and in the hospice reception area.
