More Dragon Boats!
On Saturday 9th August we had 2 teams from Queenscourt, the Dragons(who were mainly press ganged into it due to the regulars being on holiday at the last minute!) and the Hillbillies (who were mainly made up from friends and relations of the office staff). There was a competitive streak to the Hillbillies who put in a superb performance despite the most appalling weather ie It rained a lot! In fact they were only pipped at the post despite putting in the fastest time of the day, and, despite everything, actually looked as though they enjoyed it. A big thank you to everyone who took part with such good humour and to Southport Rotary for their great organisation. Sorry not to have any Hillbillies photos but noone sent me any (yet!). I’ll let the Hillbillies have the last word. When they were asked about their technique and the reasons for their success said’ ‘ You’ve just got to fill the boat with big lads!’ ‘Nuff said. |
